|Engelhard ready to sail|
The department celebrated Fred Engelhard's 20+ years of service with a happy hour and dinner at Hero's in Fullerton, Thursday afternoon, March 10.
Fred's wife Debbie and son Robert joined in the festivities. Good times, thank you Sheree for organizing such a fun event!
After tossing the idea around for the past few years, Fred decided last fall to exercise his options to reorganize his free time and retire December 2010 after 20+ years of loyal service as department staff physicist.
Fred earned his BS in physics from the department in 1989 and joined the department staff in August of 1990.
Fred has served the department in a variety of roles over the years, his chief duties to coordinate the setup and maintenance of our teaching laboratories across the department, including instrumentation repair and ordering new equipment. Fred also served as the department safety officer.
Fred always met his duties and responsibilities with a friendly can-do attitude the department will greatly miss.
Fred is looking forward to spending more time with his family, Debbie, Robert, and daughter Jennifer, and pursuing his passions for sailing and collecting. Before starting at CSUF, Fred and Debbie sailed around the world together on Fred's boat.
The department thanks you and salutes you, Mr. Engelhard, for your outstanding service and commitment!
