Home made version of a graded index fiber! Sugar concentration varies
with depth.
Due to safety concerns the physics club was not allowed to build this in
the grad room! But this is what they wanted to build.
The purchase of radioactive substances and materials to make a blast shield
was also prohibited by the physics club advisor. (It wasn't the blast shield so
much as what they wanted to do with it.) Also, the physics club was not
allowed to build an EMP device however feeble.
