NSM Outstanding Untenured Faculty Award 2026
Dr. Nabila Tanjeem
is the highly deserving recipient of the 2026 NSM Outstanding Untenured Faculty Member Award. Since joining CSUF in 2022, she has distinguished herself as an innovative and student-centered educator, teaching across the physics curriculum while incorporating research-based pedagogy, such as course-based undergraduate research experiences and project-based learning, to deepen student engagement and success. Dr. Tanjeem has established a vibrant experimental soft-matter physics research program focused on light-driven self-assembly and soft micro-robotics, securing significant external funding, including two National Science Foundation awards, and publishing an impressive record of high-impact, peer-reviewed work—much of it featuring student co-authors and highlighted as cover articles. Her mentorship has directly supported the success of over twenty student researchers, many of whom have advanced to graduate programs and scientific careers. Dr. Tanjeem exemplifies the highest standards of teaching, research, and service, and we are proud to congratulate her on this award.
