Dr. Jason Lovelace, twin brother of our own Geoffrey Lovelace, closed our spring 2013 colloquium series with an overview of his work as composer and translating scientific phenomena into music.

The department celebrates its 2013 scholars and award recipients at the annual college Awards Reception May 10. 

Another neighbor Prashanth Jaikumar visiting from Cal State Long Beach highlighted current theoretical and numerical efforts to model neutron stars as quark superconductors.

Our neighbor Thomas Gredig related his research on phthalocyanines especially as a thin film for its potential as an organic solar-cell material and also to exploit the magnetic properties of this versatile compound.

Dr. Dragos Anghel visits the department and Ionel Tifrea for a week between APS meetings.
