Earth, Moon, and Sun Demo

Equipment

  • globe
  • tennis ball (moon)
  • flashlight (sun)

Instructions

  1. Set up as shown.
  2. Position the ‘moon’ as shown to show a solar eclipse (partial and total).
  3. Position the earth between the moon and the sun to show a lunar eclipse.
  4.  Position the ‘sun’ and ‘moon’ to show the phases of the moon as seen by the observer on earth
